Tree Service Job Overview

Background

A client in James Bay, Victoria needed expert pruning for a group of mature Garry oaks that had grown wild and began obstructing their ocean view. Most of the time we refer to this type of work as “view enhancement pruning”. The trees were a vital part of their property’s charm, but some branches had grown too large and were blocking sunlight and views.

Challenges

The primary challenge was maintaining the health and natural beauty of the Garry oaks while improving the view. Over-pruning could damage the trees and alter the aesthetic of the property. We’re glad the homeowners decided to call us, because we;ve seen too many Garry oaks with ill health after being pruned incorrectly. These trees are a delicate species that should be cared for correctly. 

Solution: 

Our ISA-certified arborists performed selective pruning, carefully thinning the canopy and removing specific branches that were obstructing the view. This approach preserved the trees' health and natural form while achieving the client’s goal.

Outcome

The client was thrilled with the outcome. They regained their ocean view without compromising the trees' health or the character of their property. The selective pruning also improved sunlight penetration, enhancing the overall landscape.
